鮮やかな緑と青色の螺鈿と吸い込まれるような黒漆との対比によって、波浪に浸食された岸壁の洞窟を見立てた。
ニュージーランドアワビ貝の鮮やかな色だけを厳選して使用した。
A sea cave on a steep cliff eroded by ocean waves is expressed by the contrast between the bright green and blue of abalone shell pieces and the black of lacquer. I rigorously selected only the brightest pieces of New Zealand abalones.
